: When was the last time you saw heterosexuals dancing down the streets, dressed in leather or rubber and flaunting their bed room practices? I think Homosexuality would be accepted far quicker if it adhered to the moral mores and norms of the Heterosexual community.

When was the last time you saw heterosexuals get their skulls caved in with iron bars just for being heterosexual?

The fact remains, if you are a gay man, you are likely to get your head kicked in. Is this because gays are sub-human? No, it's because the straight population has a long tradition of queerbashing. Where does the intolerance lie?

Would you insist that heterosexuals keep their flirting to themselves? If not, then why do so for gays. As I've replied to Shaun, part of the reason for the outrageousness of the gay community is an attempt to preserve their identity against the repression and the violence; no different, in a way, to blacks in the Deep South.

The message is "we will not be cowed by your violence; we will not give into fear; we are your equals, even if we are a minority and we are not going to bow down to your coercion".

The problem lies in your own conditioning to think of gays as repulsive, even when it doesn't touch you directly; after all, they're not making a pass at you, are they? So what's the problem?

Love is love; what's in your heart is far more important than what's in your trousers.

Farinata.
