I don't think one can know what the future holds... moreover I doubt that the functional use of an ideology can be determined until it's been put into practice.Though I do not envision an entire world full of people openly endorsing a system that would deny the selfish side of their human nature. The average person seems to fear a perfect equality among persons, not relish it - you might find the current opposition to socialist society among thinking persons derives from such a lack of confidence in our fellow humans.
