Assuming your statistics are accurate, there are other places animals in labs may be suffering: basic research (experimentation performed in pursuit of general knowledge, as opposed to a specific goal such as testing the safety of a new drug); military research (testing the efficacy of ballistics, gases, and other lethal weapons); and psychological testing, which can be even more cruel than medical/cosmetic testing.

It's sad how many ways people have devised to make helpless animals suffering; says something awful about us.

: i just have one question...if 43% of testing is done for medical reasons and only.1% is done for cosmetic reasons where is the other 47% of the animals at?????
