'Superior' humans

I don't know or care about all this bible stuff, as it's all open to interpretation anyway (and as far as I'm concerned, authored by men, not some god), but if we humans are to consider ourselves superior, then we ought to act like it in a consistent manner, including being morally superior. WE DON'T HAVE TO KILL WHALES TO LIVE, so why should we?

One answer, to which I cynically subscribe, is that we are definitely not the morally superior species on the planet. We're cruel and selfish, and even if it diminishes us in the end, we don't care.

Lastly, your analysis of racism vs. speciesism misses the point. While "race" may be an artificial construct, skin color is not, and slavery was based on differences in skin color, just as specieism is based on differences in species. DIFFERENCE is the key word here, and for some reason, people seem to think that difference justifies mass killing and exploitation -- of people and animals.
