1 As long as the information is in there somewhere, you can
reserve it until later. You do not have to take it up
2 with Professor Wheelock and you do not have to argue with
him in cross-examination as to whether the statement he
3 has just made is justifiable or not.
4 MR. MORRIS: Maybe just to point out one particular point:
Say, in the middle of that chart, for the 16 year old
5 male, the only dinner which is a McDonald's, if you like,
a standard McDonald's meal, which is the McLean Delux
6 medium french fries, side salad, that is the only dinner
in this weekly chart I can see. There are also a couple
7 of dinners at lunch time, but McLean Delux was not brought
in in the States until 1991?
8 A. No. This is the annual report for 1990, as
I understand it.

Q. Printed in 1991?
10 A. Yes, but presumably it refers to data collected during
1990.

12 include events which occurred, or would not normally
include events which occurred ----
13 A. That would be my understanding, anyway.
14 MR. MORRIS: If we refer to -- I am not sure where it was put
in the end, the McDonald's Nutritional Initiative.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, we can save time. On the McDonald's
16 Nutritional Initiatives it says: "1991 revolutionised the
industry with the introduction of Mclean Delux sandwich".
17 I do not know if that is the same thing or not.

25 think it is there, make a list of the items and see if
those who act for the plaintiffs will fill in the dates
26 for you. I cannot say what their response will be, but
have a try.

MR. MORRIS: I will basically submit, to save time because,
28 realistically speaking, I am not going to go through every
item -- I have done that -- but, as an example, that is
29 quite a dramatic change in 1991, especially as saturated
fat is at the centre of the case in many respects. That
30 is clearly a 1991 change, which is not actually relevant
to the UK at all, because it is not in this country. I
