Day 098 - 07 Mar 95 - Page 02

                       MR. TIMOTHY CHAMBERS, recalled

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Did you have any more to ask, Mr. Rampton?

MR. RAMPTON: No, my Lord. I read that article. I cannot see
that it has anything to do with this witness. My Lord, I
do now have the envelopes promised together with, I think,
40 copies of profile which I will pass over. His Lordship
       has one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have my sample, as it were. Are the
documents you wanted to hand in now ---

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- or are you going to come to them when you
       do?

MR. MORRIS: I think it would be better to hand them in
       straightaway.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which ones are for ----

MR. MORRIS: There are four animal welfare and ---

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- Mr. Chambers.

MR. MORRIS: -- food poisoning things. None of them were
relevant to Mr. Chambers' evidence but I think we ought to
hand them in otherwise they will be hanging around.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. What I am going to do is put them on
one side and I want you to tell me where they should go.

MR. RAMPTON: Mrs. Brinley-Codd has already done that and will
       tell your Lordship later on.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you.

MR. MORRIS: There is one further document as well to get out of
the way. It is, if you remember, the American USDA FSIS
directive corrective action had a page missing, page 8.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: I have page 8 and the cover note that came with it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will keep those three together. If at some
stage someone could just write on a piece of paper the name
of the document and where it goes in our file in relation
to each three. I remember the FSIS, but I cannot at the
moment just remember exactly where it goes. Do not tell me
now, we will do all three together.

MR. MORRIS: I think the court system is slightly different from
       our own.

                 Cross-examined by the Defendants

MR. MORRIS: Mr. Chambers, you said that you are responsible,
