  Q. And following that?
       A. Following that I took up a contract with the Finnish
Overseas Development Agency and worked in Nicaragua as an
Animal Health Adviser in a dairy project. A large part of
that work was concerned with public health work as well.
We established public health standards locally for meat and
milk with the local public health officials, and I trained
people on antimortem and postmortem examination of meat.

  Q. That was when?
       A. I went there late 1992 and I came back at the end of
1993. It was a year's contract. After that in 1994, much
earlier in 1994, in April, I worked for Eville and Jones at
       the Jarretts abattoir.

  Q. Since then?
       A. I was dismissed from my employment with Eville and
Jones after a month's employment. After that I worked from
June 1994, that is, I worked for seven months as a
temporary Veterinary Inspector for the Ministry of
Agriculture in Gloucester in their Gloucester Animal Health
Office doing mainly work on TB tracing, BSE, and animal
welfare. Since then I have not worked. We moved from
Bristol to Reading recently and I am going to start full
time employment with the Commonwealth Bureau of Agriculture
       in May.

  Q. What would be your position at the Commonwealth Bureau?
       A. Information Officer.

  Q. I note that you have a qualification from the University of
       Zimbabwe as well?
       A. Yes. My Finnish Degree at the time was not recognised
by the Botswanan authorities and they expected me to do
further or basically pass qualification examinations either
in South Africa or Zimbabwe and I did that.

  Q. Are you fluent in Finnish, English, Swedish and Spanish?
       A. Well, I should say so, yes.

  Q. And a good knowledge of German?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You have been designated an Official Veterinary Surgeon in
Red Meat by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries?
       A. Yes, that is right.

  Q. You are a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary
       Surgeons?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Your statement that you made on December 4th 1994 for the
purposes of this case, are you prepared to have that taken
as read as a true record of your opinion?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do you have a copy in front of you?
       A. No, I do not.
