     4        I think the question was what we have been working on, if
     5        you like, since Jill Barnes' appointment and, indeed, my
     6        engagement as a safety consultant.

     8   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  We start with her appointment as the first of
     9        the innovations?
    10        A.  Yes.

    12   Q.   The next one, Mr. Purslow?
    13        A.  815, para. 1.3, some revisions to the stores' policy
    14        being carried out during 91/92.

    17        A.  Page 821, para. 2.14, which emphasises the Task Force
    18        was restructured in May 1991.  Obviously, that is part of
    19        the ongoing process and refers to the earlier comment.
    20        Page 822, which is the continuation of 2.14, a considered
    21        report on the Company's accidents statistics, initiated a
    22        hazard spotting exercise and so on and so forth.  The
    23        statistics, as you will be aware, was an innovation that
    24        Jill introduced.

    27        A.  At page 825, 2.30, there was relevant guidance
    28        available e.g. on COSHH and so on which is one of the
    29        projects that we worked on.

    31        Page 828, 2.36, just emphasised again the COSHH procedures
    32        had been used effectively in some stores when introducing
    33        cost procedures and so on.  Page 831, para. 2.48, talks
    34        about several initiatives affecting the Health & Safety
    35        content of training were outlined during interviews,
    36        training on COSHH, a revised fire, hygiene and safety test
    37        used at orientation, and so on.

    40        revised fire, hygiene and safety test?
    41        A.  It would include the safety aspect of the -----

    44        test, there is COSHH and revision of the Applied Equipment
    45        course?
    46        A.  Yes, it was part of the ongoing work that was being
    47        undertaken.
