Day 143 - 27 Jun 95 - Page 05

       A. I have something from Mr. Gallin right here,
       G-A-L-L-I-N.

  Q. They have not been put in yet then. To go after Mr. Gallin
should be Sarah English which at the moment is in an
earlier part in the bundle which I have made my No. 12 of
the Civil Evidence Act witnesses and then Mr. Davidson whom
       I have made No. 13?
       A. My Lord, I do not have either of those.

  Q. No, you do not, they are coming up. Then Mr. Duncan which
I have made 14. Just look at Mr. Davidson, please,
       Mr. Stein.
       A. I have it in front of me.

MR. MORRIS: It is just that if you remember in the original PUP
survey under "Methodology", it says the phrase: "Different
strategies were used by surveyors in order to obtain this
       information"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then it said they got the information from managers. In
the statements by the person who is the author of the
survey, the researcher of the survey, he said: "My
information was totally based on what managers and owners
directly told me." I can tell the court that I spoke to
       him and he said -----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, no.

MR. MORRIS: No, it is relevant.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Put a question.

MR. MORRIS: If I can put a question -- this does not
       contradict -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause -- look, stop. Take it steadily.
Think of your question. Take your time about it and then
       put it to Mr. Stein.

MR. MORRIS: If he went with other people but he was always
present himself at every single interview with managers,
then that is no contradiction at all, is it, that he was
always present when the owners directly told him the
information that they based the survey on? There is no
contradiction to what it says in the PUP survey that
sometimes he would have gone with other people as well?
       A. My Lord -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That must follow as night follows day.

MR. MORRIS: That is what I say, if I can tell the court that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We will wait to see what all the evidence on
this aspect is at the end of the day.

MR. MORRIS: If need be, I can get another statement from
Mr. William Davidson to explain that he took other people
with him on occasion. That is all I have to say on that.
