     1   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  How much are you expecting Miss Watkins to
     2        say?  Is it just one or two points where you expect her to
     3        give some extra evidence, or every five seconds, as it
     4        were?

     6   MS. STEEL:  I just want her to say where she is filming a
     7        different chicken and where it is a continuation that she
     8        is doing from a different angle, or something like that
     9        really.

    11   MR. RAMPTON:  My Lord, the copy of the video I watched yesterday
    12        evening, in fact, repeats itself.

    14   MS. STEEL:  Yes.

    16   MR. RAMPTON:  The true film starts not at the beginning of the
    17        tape, one can tell that from the timing; I think it starts
    18        about four minutes past 4.00 in the afternoon, perhaps a
    19        bit later, and runs through for about 18 minutes.

    MR. JUSTICE BELL:  What I suggest is -----

    23   MS. STEEL:  If I can just explain, the part at the beginning
    24        which I do not mind whether or not it is shown,
    25        Miss Watkins made a compilation of the different chickens
    26        with deformities and put that together after that.  There
    27        is the continuous film from when she arrived.

    29   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  Yes.  I think the best thing is if
    30        Mrs. Brinley-Codd -- does Miss Watkins know how to operate
    31        it?

    33   MS. STEEL:  I think she does as she was assisting me when we
    34        were operating it.  She pointed out the pause button.  I do
    35        not know whether it might actually work from here.

    37   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  The need is to be fairly near a microphone
    38        rather than in the corner where there is not a microphone.
    39        What I suggest is if you would not mind coming down,
    40        Miss Watkins, and take the remote control and stand where
         Mrs. Brinley-Codd was standing and then do what Ms. Steel
    42        has intimated.

    51        different bird again.  This is a different bird dying. 
    52        This is a different bird again, and it is -- this is a 
    53        different bird.  This is a different bird.  This is a
    54        different bird.  Now, if you have a look, there is a bird
    55        that cannot stand in the middle of the screen.  If you have
    56        a look, just virtually to the right, you see two birds that
    57        cannot walk.  They are lying on their sides.  If you have a
    58        look in the clearing, there is a bird, second in the
    59        middle, and there are two birds.
