  Q. Business Studies and Psychology. When did you actually get
those 'A' Levels; what was the month when they came
       through?
       A. It would have been the beginning of August.

  Q. Do you remember when you actually sat the exams that you
got the results of in August 1994?
       A. The beginning to the middle of June.

  Q. Beginning to the middle of June. It was after that, after
you got the 'A' Levels that you became a full-timer with
       the Company?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You tell us you did, during the holidays, work full-time in
       the Bath restaurant?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That was while you were studying for your 'A' Levels; is
       that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You said that paragraph 4 is not right. This is made in
November, this statement, and you tell us that at that date
you were Floor Manager. How has that changed?
       A. A couple of weeks ago I was promoted to the position of
       crew -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you keep your voice up? Speak up loud
       and clear, Mr. Cox.
       A. Sorry. About two weeks ago, I was promoted to the
       position of crew trainer.

MR. RAMPTON: Crew trainer. You say it is a promotion. What is
       the next stage after that?
       A. It is considered to be a step into the salaried
       management.

  Q. Towards salaried management?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Is that what you are aiming for?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Can you turn right to the back of the statement, please,
paragraph 31? You said you found the communication within
the restaurant to be good, and you tell us later on that
you find that Managers are approachable. There is a
sentence before that: "There are regular rap sessions and
crew meetings, some of which I have attended." Have you
attended both rap sessions and crew meetings?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Can I ask you this: on what basis do people attend rap
sessions; are they volunteers or are they picked, as it
       were?
       A. The rap sessions are attended by volunteers. The
problem is, it is always the people that have a negative
point, because that is the nature of the rap sessions.
