Day 242 - 29 Apr 96 - Page 03

  Q. If we just check we all have the same thing. The first is
July 24th, 1993. It is a brief statement, half a page?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Then I believe that is a followed by a supplementary
statement which is nearly a full page, November 1st, 1993?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Then there is a second supplementary statement dated
       December 11th, 1993?
       A. That is correct.

  Q.   With an article annexed to it which you intend to rely on;
       is that correct?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. You have a copy of that article, I think, with you?
       A. I do.

  Q. It is a full article. I am not sure if he discloses every
       page.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have a few pages of it, but let us see
       where we get to.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. I did not intend to read that out, but we do
intend to rely on it without reading it out.
(To the witness): Then there is another statement which is
February 20th, 1996, another supplementary statement of
about half a page with some further documentation behind
it, including a map, a series of maps?
       A. That is not in this file.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest you do is why do you not start
at the first one and then when we come to where something
is missing, then make sure that Dr. Carriere has that.

MS. STEEL: I have a spare copy.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Wait for a moment otherwise we might get
       confused.

MR. MORRIS: I will read through your statement. If there is
anything incorrect, or needs clarification, please stop me
at the end of a sentence in the paragraph:

       "Statement by Jean A. Carriere.

       A. There has been a further field trip since I made that
statement, and that was in the summer of 1995.
