There is a song with the line "paranoia will destroy ya"
"hon" you must have me confused with some one else. First, I am not a christian. It doesn't seem to mix well with my belief in evolution. Second, as this is a debate room and I would guess most people here do not know each other personally, I would feel that they understand most posts are stated rather generally, not as a personal attack, so please do calm down, no need to get worked up.
Third, you can continue to play the victem(once again, speaking of "you" generally), oh woa is me, those damn capitalists are forcing me to live this way, I have no say. Or you can just accept the fact that like most people, you enjoy the comforts of indoor plumbing and are not willing to move out in to the boonies and make an out house etc. Don't tell me it can't be done because good ol' Ted Kazinski did it(ate possum too). I personally don't think I would enjoy this so much. I confess I am guilty, like most of my fellow countrymen. This is something I accept and admit and live with while I smell the flowers(as an avid gardener FYI) or take the diesel burning public bus to work. Then there comes an alternate, making an effort to change things-be it large or small. There are many situations through out history where people didn't like the way they had to live because of some one else so they did something to change that. Sure it didn't perform a miracle over night(ie;slavery, womens lib, child welfare, etc.)All over the world major efforts are being made by concerned people uniting to make a change, take a stand. I, myself, feel a little less guilty when I participate in these efforts.
Never fear, as far as electricity, in the US, by law, if a person offers a clean source of energy to the electric company, they have to purchase and use it.You can actually buy a peice of land, put a windmill on it and sell the power to the electric company. Not many do this because it's cheaper to use fossil fuel at this time. In Germany they have a hydrogen splitting station now. This can perhaps become a pioneer for changing oil usage. The list goes on.
As far as my opinion about pointing the finger at christianity, I disagreed because I view it more as a problem of(modern)human culture than just the catholic church.
