Bjorn, you're very, very wrong. i don't have a gun, nor do most of teh people I know. Most Americans, actually, don't have a gun in their household. The average gun ownership is high only because you have a bunch of people who have three or four guns, and then the majority of us who don't own guns, who would never think of owning guns, and who don't want to live in an armed, hostile, ultra-individualistic society.
the guns are also geographically concentrated, predominantly in the South and West. most Americans don't fit into the gun-happy stereotype.
And by the way, there are at least 2 societies that are far more violent than America- Brazil and Colombia. Although with the increasing wage disparity we're becoming more and more like Brazil every day.....
