Excuse me for not putting animal rights before human rights

: Civil I can handle. Narrow mindedness well....
: Well murder is less appropriate a word for abortion than it is for meat eating or using animal tested products among other things, considering the fact that these involve the killing and torture of beings with fully developed nervous systems unlike abortion.

Well, half of the abortions performed in the U.S. are performed at a time in the pregnancy when the baby is pretty much fully developed and can survive outside the womb. Have you ever seen a picture of an aborted baby? I have, and it made me sick. It was a tiny human being with its head and some of its limbs ripped off the body.

:And Unless you are vegan and living off the land you haven't got a leg to stand on in a pro-life sense.

Oh, I am soo sorry for putting the rights of human beings before the rights of animals. Most of the time animals are killed for our benefit. Killing a baby has no benefits that I can see.

:And seeing as you have access to a computer it is safe to assume you are a 'murdurer' too! So you should be able to tell us how's your conscience? As clear as mine I'd guess.

What does having access to a computer have to do with killing anything?

: Sure we could walk to work and the store like people did before there were cars and sure we know that many animals died to make these roads we drive on, etc. etc. etc. But we do it any way. Could you starve your own dog? No? well then how could you participate in the starving of other animals? It's a gift we humans have.
: There is no way to explain someone elses circumstances and choices in a comprehensive way if you have already decided not to comprehend.

:Luckily abortion is legal and no one elses business but the individuals otherwise we'd be back to the days of back alleys and coat hangers.

Why then is it everyones business when a mother or father kills thier newborn baby and goes to jail, yet when a mother has an abortion it's her choice and no one else's business? Essentially they are both the same thing.

: How to explain abortion to you....How to explain you eating hamburger to a hindu.....how to explain homosexuality to a homophobe....and so on...why bother if you've set your mind.

The fact that hindu's don't eat beef is a religious and cultural thing, and has nothing to do with abortion. Even though my religion is against abortion, it is not merely a religious topic. It is a matter of life and death to a baby.

: As for unwanted pregnancies being given up for adoption, several of my friends have faced this option. One could not part with the fetus after carrying it for so long, kept it, ended up living in a car with her and a psyco boyfriend among other wonderful things. one couple signed the papers and are still torn by regret and confusion and parted ways. One couple ended up tossing the kid between them and the fathers parents and continue to. Then there are those who had the abortions, went on to college, great jobs, marriage, etc and later had children in better environments, and those who may yet.

: No you don't walk into the clinic happy as a clam and leave off into the sunset. It is a very difficult decision and one that is painfully made. And it is something one lives with forever. But it is a CHOICE made by an individual.

Well I would hope that that kind of decision would be difficult and painful to make, at least that shows that the mother has a little bit of a conscience. Did it ever occur to you that the reason why so many women feel guilty after making such a decision is because they finally realized that they killed thier child? And as for it being thier choice; if I choose to kill someone, does that make it right?

:Who speaks for the unborn fetus? Who speaks for the hunted deer? Did house pets ask to be fixed? What about their unborn? Choice for the petowners. and so on

The biggest (and weakest) arguement by pro-choicers is that a woman should have the right to do what ever she wants to do to her own body. I agree that men and women should be allowed to do whatever they want to thier own bodies, but abortion is something that happens to the baby, not the mother. It is the babies body and life. So even though a woman might think she is simply just "ending her pregnancy" she is actually ending someone else's life
