: : I dont think the nutters who kill doctors and patients in abortion clinics to prevent them killing others notice the huge big irony that's goings on there.

: Thats right. People who support the death penalty and who support the killing of abortion doctors are just as guilty of people who support abortion.

:
: : The "Christian" Right think abortion is wrong but they also punish people who have their children by fighting for reduced welfare and forcing single parents into work so their children cant be brought up properly. The "Christian" Right also support the death penalty and they'll quote tons of pre-christ jewish religious writtings to you if you think it's wrong but they'll forget it was Capital Punishment that offed Jesus in the first place and the whole Christ vs. the Capital Punishment of the women who was going to get stoned (not with dope with Big Rocks of granite).

: : I dont think they're Christian and they arent right(ious).

: I agree with you there. Some of the popular "Christians" that come to mind are the Rev. Al Sharpton and Jerry Falwell and that guy that hosts the 700 club, or whatever its called tv show, I think his name is Pat Robertson or something. Few things upset me more than when I see any professing Christian acting ungodly. Those people I mentioned above, I think are using thier "Christianity" to advance thier political careers.

I previously posted on this.I don't have a problem with despatching mass murderers or someone guilty of genocide. However, back to the American dilemma. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I see and hear
the people from the States tend to be patriotic in the main - if they are given a gun by their government and told that so and so is their enemy they will kill (murder) this enemy - Iraqi's, Serbs, Libyan's, Vietnamese etc without much hesitation. As for the UK, we are not on the whole at all patriotic (for better or worse) the vast majority of us would, quite rightly in my opinion, not lay down our lives for Queen (HA !) and country. Would any of our American contributors who are against the death penalty have a problem in shooting Red's (You remember them, you were always finding them under your beds, or for that matter, wherever you looked)if your government told you to ? I'm curious.
