G'day Mate (picture wide open sunburnt hills with kangaroos skipping by)

: The Virgin Mary is maybe anti-women, I've never thought of it that way, I dont know if sex actually took place or God just put the child there, I'd have said it was the latter.

Well... I like Jesus, but I don't think he's god, just another man. I think you and I are as much god as any other person including JC. We are part of the infinite.

: : Yes so do we take what they've written as gospel (pun intended).

: I dont think they where pissed all the time. A bit of level headed objectivity is needed, is all.

There is good work there no doubt. But for me it's just philosophy.

: : I don't either. However I think you're wrong on the relationship and good example is the discovery that we orbit the sun and that the world isn't flat.

: Fair enough but no proof of existance isnt proof of none existance and then theirs miracles but that aside I count athiests among the true christians, if they're virtuous etc. Spirituality isnt what your judged on.

Well we can't be certain, that's true. Knowledge and certainty - we have to be careful and aim for the former.

: Hope that was brought up there, I dont like being bought and sold. Well Evolution goes so far and then you have belief in materialism or not. As the Greecian Cynic says, I dont know if their are Gods but there ought to be.

Yes brought (bloody tying). Maybe, maybe not. Why are we better of with gods anyway? Isn't it just a form of understanding good for some but not for others?

: : But it is chaoic by nature (here as well as in space) even if by god.

: I minumise the chaos in my view it's the product of struggles between good and evil, in this realm and beyond, not the struggle between the strong and the stronger, with everyone else trampled.

That's something we'd both have trouble proving. Make a good film.

: : I'm only smiling.

: I think that's a snigger.

Definitely a smile.

: : Well I agree a bit and I admit to being a catholic and, many years ago, an alter boy! Nowadays I'm more partial to Celtic and Pagan beliefs and Wica, and of course science. My girlfriend (must be of irish decent - Ms Leahy) has many books on these subjects and they're very interesting.

: But how do you reconcile your obvious scentific beliefs with Wica and Majic?

I don't really. Look at it this way: having been to catholic primary and secondary schools and also being alter boy I've had my fair share of rituals. So to burn some candles is not that different for me. For me Science is more real and everyday. When we lost a friend last year we burnt candles for him and remembered him. I know he went back to the earth and that is confirmed with science and that's paganistic, but I don't know if any ritual will do anything other than make us feel better (a prayer or a wica ceremony). (I'm not explaining this well)

I mean I can communicate with you and that's science at work (good work). Everything else is speculation, but not necessarily bad. Acceptance of different views is easy and the only way forward.

Cheers from Oz
