It sounds like you have subjective/relative denial.

: That's giving chickens a little too much credit, I think. Did you know turkeys can drown by looking up in a rainstorm? Nature made them too stupid to keep water out of their beaks.

And yet amazingly they still exist, how stupid indeed....

: Kevin said meat eating was immoral a while ago. I disagree with that and cite nearly every historical and contemporaneous culture as proof that morality can not be raised as a reason to be vegan. Every other reason to be vegan other than the morality claim leaves the subject a personal choice and offers no moral judgment of meat eaters. I'm offended that a small faction of idealists should make a moral judgment of what can be considered normal dietary practice when history, simple observation, the animal kingdom, and the lack of prohibition in the vast majority of world religions all serve to condone meat eating.

And yet you fail to mention that meat was never as easily attained or accessable as it is now. Most people accross the world could never afford even remotely exsessive quantities of meat in the past and many still can not. The animal kingdom consists of animals eating foods that their bodies were physically designed to eat and almost never in excess, except for the human species, which Stu is of course self-admitedly not a member, in light of this you may be an exception for meat eating. As for non human primates eating meat is very rare.

: Niky, if you wish to be thick about this be my guest but I'm not buying any of this. If you wish to compare a monkey rubbing leaves on himself (biological adaptation) to the cognitive prowess of those who cured polio your argument is lost anyway. Which mechanical science did the tardigrade apply to his problem to solve it? Of course man is superior to animals - by any reasonable definition of the word.

AH! So glad you mention it: ) Since you regard Webster as reasonable enough for you, please lets go through it blow by blow, eh? Are you game?
And once again you cite an example of SOCIETIES prowess, our own biological adaptation eh? Orangutans have memories SUPERIOR to humans, and physical strength,Birds fly, I can't;fish have superior water dwelling design, etc. We are HTML wired, cheetahs run fast, subjective subjective subjective.

: Read a dictionary. That's what I do because I like it when words actually mean the same thing from day to day. You guys probably have your own.

It sounds like you have subjective/relative denial.
Yes, in fact I do have my own! My own 3 versions of WEBSTER! Lets review together shall we?? OK:
Webster School and Office edition 1972
Superior:1.higher in position, rank, authority, etc. 2.greater in quality, amount, etc. 3.of very high quality, ability, etc.:excellent.4.showing a feeling that one is better than others:haughty.
the revised edition repeats this then the
Webster's twentieth century abridged
superior:1.having greater elevation;higher;upper.2.printed or written above another figure or letter or above the rest of the line;in n2=yx,2 and x are superior.3.higher in rank, position, authority,etc.4.greater in value,quality,amount,power,etc.5.far above the average;of high quality,worth,ability,etc;excellent.6.having or showing a feeling that one is better than others;arrogant;haughty;supercilious.7.more comprehensive or inclusive;generic:said of words,terms,concepts,etc.8.in astronomy,(a)farther from the sun than the earth is:said of certain planets;(b)designating a conjunction that is farther from the earth than the sun is.9.in botany,(a)growing above some other organ:thus, a carlyx is said to be superior when it appears to growfrom the top of an ovary, and the ovary is superior when growing above the origin of the calyx;(b)next to the flower which is toward the main stem;(c) pointing toward the apex of the fruit;ascending said of the radicle.10.in anotomy and zoology, RELATIVELY higher in position or direction...bla bla(planetary distance example follows)
Need I go on? Now please point out what part of the definition implies to you personally that you are some how superior overall(as you prefer same definition day to day as opposed to subjective). Also note it sounds much more likely you confused the definition of SUPERIORITY COMPLEX!

: So talk about this god. It sounds like it's you.

Same could be said....

: Not because you wish it so Nik. So far, nobody here has reconciled animals eating meat and animals attempting sex with their same sex.
: You guys (and Karen) can't have it both ways. If it is not immoral
: for humans to have sex with their same sex, it is neither immoral for them to eat meat unless you can find better arguments than the example of the animal kingdom.

AGAIN? Are you not reading all of our posts? Proof is all around you. If only you were as fond of unbiased research as you are of webster. There are many convincing arguements against human meat consumption, of which, I would think the health factor would be the most obvious. Never heard of a lima bean causing heart congestion. Hmm...could it be that we are not physically superior in meat consumption. Meat consumption increases, related health problems increase, need a brick fall on ones head to make it clearer? Male male sex in goats, goats are fine, same for humans. No health problems, no resource depletion, no ecosystem damage, yada yada yada. YOU can't have it both ways. If one eats meat there are consequences all the way around. Especially if you buy that meat at a grocery store. Please study ecology and the cycle of events involved in common meat processing;fast food, grocer, etc. Where and how is it aquired? What effects does this have on the environment? What less damaging alternatives are there? Please follow through, then debate.

: Good for me? How old are you boy?

Exactly what difference would ones age make in your mind?

: Nothing. But smoke enough of it and teach it to your children and my children will rule over yours.

RULE? Boy, keep YOUR nose down or you'll be drowning with the other turkeys!

: Actually, my friends have been dead for two decades. I wonder what their parents would think of you.

Likely hating pot, as parents of fruit poison victems hate fruit!

: Equality: Steal from the productive and redistribute to the unproductive.

: Nonviolence: Be a sitting duck for the next depraved tyrant.

: Human brotherhood: Be responsible for people you do not know and will never meet.

: Freedom: Unless you wish to own a gun, eat meat, run a business, talk about Jesus in school, smoke cigarettes...

: Love: Same sex, of course.

Webster, by any chance?
