Some good points on rationalisation etc, but what is NATO if it is not a European military force ? Let's not forget NATO was created to keep the peace in Europe essentially. It was supposed to be able to take on the might of Russia and the Warsaw pact. Most of us find it incredulous that a bunch of thugs led by an out and out Nazi (Slobba) has been giving us such trouble. We should have given the people of Yugoslavia a simple ultimatum - ditch him or suffer the consequences. Some of us DID learn the lessons of the last war and we have no tolerance of ethnic cleansing (which is a fancy way of describing genocide). True, the USA should not really be involved in this, but until Europe gets serious about dealing with fascism we need all the help we can get... None.
