I don't disagree on many of your counts, however, I have a few bones to pick. (No pun intended). Other animals kill and eat those lower on the food chain on a regular basis. Just a note. Perhaps we have a evolved a bit from the grunting, lower order of man, but I see no evidence that humankind has made any strides in lessoning our fixation with violence. The numerous examples you pointed out and the war - it gives no indication of being a thing of the past. We love violence, it is in music, movies, all media. That to me is even more sick than eating something lower on the food chain.
