so, basically, it is not our ability to crush other animals, but our ablility to read and write which makes us superior. or is it our ability to "think" and "reason" youre trying to say.

okay, i don't disagree with that. to the best of my knowledge, no other animals read and write.

but stewart really, how can you throw the word "superior" in there?
if as you say, we are the only species capable of logical thought, than why are so many bad things brought about as a result of this skill that you are saying sets humans apart as "superior"?

your oversights lie in that you keep wanting to stack all creatures up in some sort of descending order, however, this is not possible. all creatures have thier strenghts and weaknesses, and a better illustration of thier relation to one another would be a circle, or a complex web, and not in a line fashion as you are thinking.

you can't just go "number one=human, number two=dog, number three=turtle......." first of all because humans tend to get big headed about things and will take this to mean they can treat animals however they wish because humans are in fact "superior".
