In the regions of Persia (Iran et al) were Zoroastrianism was the religion, many many moons ago, for religious and practical reasons, they could neither bury nor burn the corpses of the community. Instead, high places being holy, they placed the Cadavres on a high tower, there to be devoured by carion birds.

I like that. When I'm dead, I'd like to be eaten by crows.
