oppose basing a society on equity

Interesting thought. I think that opposition to a free society--one based on the free market with a limited government--is based upon a lack of convidence in one's fellow man.

I personally oppose basing a society on equity (except equality under the law--libertarian equity), because any society so based must surpress individual freedom.
