: Karen, am I wrong to assume McSpotlight has an agenda? Am I wrong to assume the majority of those who park their prose here have agendas which conflict with mine? Could I be mistaken when I suppose that the disenfranchised collectivist adherant who is looking for a subversive cause might be attracted to an obiviously anti-capitalist web-site?
: Not seeing McSpotlight and its average adherant as having an agenda may only reveal the naiveté in you that these groups prey upon.

I have no idea what McSpotlight's 'agenda' is, never met him. What I was trying to get at was just because I have different perceptions than you, does not mean that I am out on some type of witch hunt to 'take' away some rights from you or impose my ideals on your life. Just because I don't agree with you, so what. No reason to get paranoid and think I am on some mission to impose my morals on you. I thought this was just a friendly debate room, oh but that's right, I am naive. Between you and D.Cruel, i've heard it all. It is all black & white for you. If it's not this It must be that, no 2 ways?

: Which makes my point perfectly - capitalism created that middle class by fomenting an ever growing economic pie. The average citizen of this country has a fantastic standard of living comparatively. Are you feeling guilty for having more?

I don't have more, DUH! We all live on the same planet regardless of our economic standards. WHen the well runs dry all our shiney nice stuff is worthless. Trade ya a glass of water for your rolex, hahaha. Oh that's right, you don't believe in limited resources. Anyhow i'm poor by US standards, not middle class.

: Why? What hope exceeds mine? Answer me! What person has the right to expect more than God provides? Also, if truth, then truth. There is no subjective truth.

How interesting that you automatically assume that not believing in God connotes 'expecting more'. I could as easily ask what person has the right to expect more than Budha provides, the Great Spirit provides, etc. What's the point? As for truth!HA! EVERYONE has their own perception of 'truth' and each one differs. How much more subjective can you get. When you get down to it, everything is relative to some degree. In my mind, just because God is not true for me, does not lessen him any, as I feel any belief should be regarded. I don't sit here and in my mind think, Ha, that idiot thinks God is real. I would never be so disrespectful, yet I don't get the impression from your posts that you feel likewise.

: I've stated many of them. Oppose them specifically.

Never meant to imply otherwise.

: Do you remember how this subject came up? I stated that while accepting homosexuality as perfectly moral and acceptable behavior, many of you have made a moral argument against meat eating. The above argument you make in support of homosexuality is exactly my argument for eating meat. Personally, I haven't any more interest in defending my position against homosexuality. I have clearly stated that I believe there to be a physical, emotional, and spiritual price to pay for this activity. Our respective positions are not apt to change no matter how many times we go around the block. But thanks for helping me make my point again with a slightly different angle. The moral dogma you ascribe to the fundamentalist viewpoint of homosexuality is primarily contrived demagoguery and is insignifcant juxtaposed to the moral dogma of the "Meat is Murder" crowd.

Aye, aye aye. yes this again, you're not the only one who doesn't want you to go over it again. You never answered my points on that theory of yours so I gave up. My motive was not to get you to stop eating meat, yet you seemed to perceive it that way. I just disagreed with your reasoning plain & simple. You disagree with my reasoning, and I don't have the idea that you are trying to make me eat meat! Just the same, I am not trying to convince you to hang out in gay bars, I just say, you do your thing, i'll do mine, and same for others. What is not right for you may be fine for someone else, and vice versa, but once again you seem to have that black & white thinking on these matters.

: Oh no! You'll not drive me away from the most free country on this planet. Nor will you have any luck influencing my sons for they are turning out quite a bit more conservative than I. But should you be inclined to think all your freedoms are quite intact, try to remember that the Boston Tea Party was arranged over a mere 1.5% tax. My overall tax burden being over 55% at the moment, I bristle a bit at the idea of socialism, communism, or any other collectivist ideal getting the slightest foothold on my son's future.

Hmmm..where do I get the idea that you are paranoid. Now i'm trying to drive you out of the country? What next. Makes a person really wonder. YOU are the one who has the problem with the US. And i'm trying to influence your sons too now??? Do you live next door to me or something, have I met your sons? All righty then...You are scaring me. I can form a malitia, and I promise you would never know or be affected if that helps any. As for Boston Tea, and whatever else may come, hey if one day I need pick up my shovel, axe, wahtever is handy, and join the mob in the street's revolution against the aristocrats, so be it. I prefer to write to the powers that be, such as the senate, about these matters. So far I've had good results. Try it if you have not already. They have to listen to those who vote for them if they want to keep their jobs. We have the power to change things. Or we can sit around and bitch.

: That's both an attack on my character and a beautiful illustration of zero sum gain thinking. I call that ignorant rhetorical knee-jerking.

Yes, yes, I know, you have it all figured out. Yawn. I'd have to jerk a lot harder to keep up with you. You start your debates by dismissing any other opinion than yours as wrong, ignorant, immoral, abherant, an agenda, an attack, some desire to undermine what you enjoy. Then you have the audacity to call me knee-jerk! If you can't take a dose of your own medicine, same for D.C. then QUIT DEBATING THAT WAY, eh?

: If you must knee-jerk with both legs, be sure you're sitting down.

Right next to you? No thanks. Take a look at what you just said, read carefully, are we in time yet?

McSpotlight: We're more than just one person; it would be closer to say that about 30-40 people had a hand in the making of McSpotlight...
