: Actually Sam, we are a little too busy ignoring real issues like the Chinese nuclear theft scandal

SDF: And other activities of US "patriots"

: to heed the cries of such a novelist as Mr. Valentine. No doubt you have one of the 10 copies ever printed on this out of print masterpiece

SDF: It's in my local college library. Must have gone out of print due to the hatred of "patriots" like you. I'm tempted to post sections of the book onto this Debating Room now. We went over this below, I'm sure that when I expand my McSpotlight archive I'll locate that debate. April Oliver, who is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations no less, checked and confirmed all her sources only to have her sources sell her out when Henry Kissinger found out the story on nerve gas was being done. Now why card-carrying CFR members would be prompted to conspire to create some big fiction about US use of terror in Vietnam, just to make "patriots" look bad, is beyond me. Too bad the "patriots" forgot to cover up My Lai. Nowadays they make sure they have a firm blanket on news that makes the US look bad, like they did more-or-less successfully in keeping El Salvador out of the media (see esp. Mark Pedelty, WAR STORIES). Clinton bombs Iraq again, nobody cares except the babies who die as a result.

Ah, Vietnam. The US goes in, sets up a proxy regime, overthrows a few governments, rigs an election (1971), marches a few hundred thousand troops in, things get ultraviolent, the troops march out, the US declares victory, and the locals overthrow the US proxy puppet regime. Henry the K gets to spend his remaining years covering up the public relations mess, with Stuart Gort as his loyal ally. What could be more patriotic?
