: Have you joined the DSA NJ? I just see you've noted it down as your "Org".

Yes, just last week. i got tired of reading abou history and wishing i lived 30 years ago, and equally tired of listening to the 24 different communist parties who live around here talking sanctimonioously about how they are "pure" and refuse to compromise, etc. The liberal communists I can at least agree with on most things, the ones i really can't stand are the Maoists. There's this tiny group that calls itself teh Revolutionary Communist party, USA which (no joke) holds up as its two shining examples of human freedom, the Los Angeles Riots and the Cultural Revolution. They annoy the hell out of me.

Anyway, with the DSA I can actually do something active instead of just talking. (For RD- I can already sense the 'Politicians' fallacy' bit coming !) In America, I think the main task of socialists is, in contrast to Lenin, to be the REARGUARD of the worlking class. I.e. fighting a defensive battle to restore rent control, welfare, affirmative action, etc. from destruction.

What org. is yours?
