: "The Committee approved participation of the WSP at the Mass Cann rally on September 18 and at the Bread & Roses Heritage Festival scheduled for Labor Day."

: So the World Socialist Party USA (WSPUSA) will be at those places, should folks wish to meet and talk to them- assumedly with lots of the Other parties in Boston way ;) But with a slightly different agenda...

Mass Cann is really a funny occasion. 40,000 people get together to roll a few joints and hear speakers excoriate the System, the cops and everyone knows what's going on and it pisses them the hell off, but they can't do anything. I was there two years ago - it was right after those New York cops sodomized the Haitian immigrant with a broomstick- and this guy was saying, 'What rhymes with Rudolph [Guiliani]? ADOLF!!!"

Also really funny is how everyone there, literally everyone there is smoking cannabis, but if you ask anyone "where can I get some weed?' they'll all say, "I have no idea. i don't do that shit, man." You gotta use soem kind of code language that i don't get.

Last year the cops tried to get the organizers not to encourage the crowd to "Light up", because that would be inciting a crime. But the organizers weaseled out on some hilarious technicality. They said that SMOKING weed is not a crime, only BUYING it is. Since no eed would be sold on the grounds (what a laugh) the smokers would have already have committed their crime- and smoking alreday-purchased marijuana is not in itself a crime. To which my response is to suppress a snicker.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think teh WSM decdied that Mass Cann woudl be a good forum? in my experience the rally is populated bya lot of 15-year-olds who couldn't give two cents about socialism.

good luck anyway.
