: I think PETA would better promote their beliefs if they weren't so extreme. I believe their views on having pets are extreme and they're grasping when they state that Jesus didn't eat meat and try to use scripture to back it up. Of course if I try to use scripture to back up a conservative viewpoint I would be considered a hopeless bible thumper.PETA aren't extremists by any means; they're reformists. Of course, I don't personally agree with trying to justify behaviour using the Bible, since there are many solid scientific arguments you could use without resorting to mumbo-jumbo.
