: I am responding to Jeremy Cook's genious statement about eating human vs. meat, etc.

Go ahead but his attack is philosophically relevant... a common one to levy against meat-eaters, as a matter of fact.

: To begin with, meat IS able to be digested in our bodies correctly. Just ask a DOC.

And if you ask him or her which is easier to digest, they'll tell you vegetable matter is. Diesel cars can run off old cooking grease, but that doesn't mean it's good for the engine.

: Secondly, we are not destroying habitats in order to eat meat. That's what farms are for, Mr.Brain.

The farm occupies land that animals were once free to build their homes on. Now if they dig holes and eat the foliage they get poisoned or shot. That is the destruction of the habitat, the farm itself.

: Granted, there may be a few cases that go against generality, however most meat-eaters don't go into the wild forests to destroy herds of zebra and warthogs.

Exactly. Nope, we have far crueler ways of dealing with our animal food sources. Ask someone on the forum for some links. They won't be easy reading.

: Think about it. Finally, I would just like to let you know that I am a meat fanatic. I love the Prime Quarter, and so do millions, so I suggest to you: GET OVER IT!

I have, many others have, and apparently you haven't. Thought, that is. If you had you'd realize Jeremy's position to be quite incisive... what exactly is the difference between human and non-human meat? And as for the meat-fetish you have going on... it's a sad day when anyone is a fanatic about any foodstuff; glad to know despite all our superiority and evolution over the "lesser animals" we're still preoccupied mostly with our stomachs.

Good day to you. But substantiate your opinions or give up your right to them.
