Just a couple of points to add for everyone's consumption...

Never, never, never, never, EVER... dial 10-10-321 or 10-10-345 in hopes of getting the low toll rate advertised for such a call. The time I did, I didn't receive the "up to 50-percent" savings promised in the advertising. I did, however, get my number placed on MCI's telemarketing list, since these companies are fronts for MCI. Telemarketers are easy to get rid of, and information is availible on the web to help you, but guess what? I don't want to have to spend 30 seconds telling you not to call me again!

Anyway, the Telephone Consumers Protection Act requires telemarketers to stop bugging you when you tell them to stop calling, except in cases where the company has established a "business relationship" with you. Apparently, calling 10-10-321 constitutes a "business relationship," and implies that you want people trying to separate you from your money over the telephone. That's why I never corrected my phone number on my personal checks when the area code changed, thus thwarting the efforts of any telemarketing-minded company that gets hold of it.
