Actually I've known a Mason - he is equally mystified by his Order's supposed power...but then he hasn't risen to the 33rd Level - at which point all will be revealed! (It's a selling point)

Whether its the IMF or the local deveoper that wants to put a Home Depot in the town - I'll stick with powers I can observe.
