God, do I hate intellectuals.

What of paradigms that measure difference in degree and quantity, rather than opposites? That is, levels of blue, yellow and red combining to form distinct colors ... In such a paradigm, is it necessary to have an opposite for blue ('not-blue'?) to be able to deal with the concept of 'blue', in and of itself?

Understand - if this were an argument adjudicated by five-year-olds, I would be laughed out of the schoolroom. (Egads ... All this dukkha ... 'Tis enough to turn one Buddhist ...)
