People don't seem to be very good at controlling their environment - nature always seems to have the last word. We're not harnessing nature, we're invoved in an endless war of attrition and we can only win by completely eliminating the enemy. This is going to take quite some time but the win will be glorious (and very messy). We'll have to move planets after that. Ah,well, at least we'll still be able to buy cheese in a can.
