The point of ending truancy laws

SDF: The point would be to require teachers to appeal to the better sensibilities of students in designing learning situations. A cultural transformation would have to occur besides the end of truancy laws as well. If the kids can leave any time they want, the teachers will have to appeal to more than their fear of punishment to keep them in the classroom.
