: I don't know if there's a God, or what that God may want from us. Organized religion is, in my humble opinion, a bunch of hooey based on manmade rules, and I want nothing to do with it.

Well that depends organised religion can be an example, the most non-christian actions ever where perpetrated during the crusades for example, if you dont learn from history then you repeat it, even if it's in an unorganised fashion.

We might have imperfect tools but we can still build this thing.

: I agree with what the Dalai Lama said: "Compassion is my religion."

I'd agree with that but then I'm dissenter because even the catholic church, in which I worship, has attacked my 'pick and mix' faith/religion and the definitions of 'justification', that is how we are 'saved' from hell, recently adopted by the church are a way, way, of the mark in my opinion and unbiblical.

That's just me though, I'm led to believe that some Jew's believe that gentiles who keep the law (ten commandments) can go to heaven, some Jews dont believe in hell or the devil, I remember a real good quote that said that 'selfishness is the only real atheism' by someone and I like that, and another from a liberation theologian who said when he died and viewed the church of Christ in heaven that he'd be surprised it it wasnt riddled with confused athiests.

That'd be my line of thinking too.
