Robert, old sparring partner;

: A little stray from the course. Which came first protiens or amino acids?

Probably the amino acids, which apparentlty can form abiotically. However, there is still some debate about the details. See this post of the month from april of last year at talkorigins for some more explicit explanations. As I've pointed out to Gotch, abiogenesis is not really relevant to evolution, of course. Evolutionary theory doesn't discuss the origins of life, only what happens to life once it's here. Therefore I have only a passing interest in the matter, but some of the folks over at T.O. are specialists in abiotic processes, including abiogenesis. Take a look over there, there's lots of good information on the topic.

: May our dear Lord, Jesus Christ, richly amd most abundantly Bless you today.

That's very kind of you. May you be blessed with the power of keen insight and eloquence that Darwin, Fisher, Mayr, Gould and Dawkins received. ;-)
