Then by your logic, you should kill and eat people

: : That's right. I choose to kill plants, which have far less physical and mental capacity to suffer and, conversely, to enjoy life. You choose to kill animals which raise their young and enjoy their mates and all the other things which make up animal life, and you kill them by blasting a hole in their side. Your choice, as you said, but don't expect me to congratulate you for your oh-so profound sense of respect for those you slaughter.

: I don't want any congratulations from anyone. All i want is for all the people who don't like hunting to realize that they are doing the same thing by eating plants. You are still killing a living thing.

As has been pointed out many times on this and other forums, only eating (and therefore killing) plants minimizes the amount of suffering one creates in this world. I would kill a carrot before killing a frog, and I would kill a frog before killing a cow, and I would kill a cow before killing a person, but fortunately I can stop killing at the level of plants. So, it's not the same when I eat a vegetable as when you eat an animal. You don't need to do what you do, Hunter and Proud, but you do so anyway for an intangible pleasure. That is your decision to make, of course, but it is ultimately one based on selfishness: an animal's life snuffed out for your transitory pleasure.
