Maybe, but are they mutually exclusive issues?

: There is no additive to God's Grace. It's either His Grace or your works (Galatians 4). In the former God does the work and you do nothing, in the latter you're on your own to vainly attempt to earn God's favour through your own meritous deeds.

DDN: But I'm not talking about doing good things to 'earn god's favor'. I'm just asking why we shouldn't have a pleasant experience while
we're all down here together for so many years (as opposed to the
horrible nightmarish ones we so often have)? Why can't we have both?
Salvation AND a peaceful life in a clean environment? Does salvation
depend on us living in a polluted, violent world for 75 years? I thought it was based on faith in the story and message of Jesus Christ.
When Jesus was dying on the cross, did he say "Oh yeah, and don't forget to treat each other like shit and fuck your planet up real bad while your down there otherwise your salvation badge will be
revoked"???

:Robert: Jesus has already done the work, and His Kingdom is not of this world.

DDN: Yes, Robert, we know the script (I mean 'scripture'). Jesus' kingdom is in the clouds up in earth's atmosphere - of course, any idiot can see that. But WE, the OTHER sons and dauthers of god are down here on the ground. We ARE 'of this world' according to the Bible.
But even if we aren't FROM here, we are HERE. And as long as we're
here, wouldn't it be ok with god if we didn't kill, rape, and steal from each other; if we behaved in a manor that resulted in less wars
and famine?
