: I am back. I got caught up in school work and now I have a job but I am ready to debate again. Last time I tried to prove that God existed through logic. I have read all your previous posts on hte topic of faith vs. logic and causality, and though I do not believe it I do not want to argue that. I want to argue history right now. God is an abstract idea that as far as you are concerned is unable to be proved rationaly. But the resurection is a historical event that can be proved. Refute it. I'm ready for some apologetics.

Easy:

1) There are several different, conflicting versions of this story, even within the Christian bible.

2) There is no independent evidence of the event, either physical or historical, other than the stories in the Christian bible, and

3) The only people who claim to have had personal contact with Christ after the alleged resurection all stood to benefit considerably from claiming that it happened. They therefore had a strong motive to lie.
This is not conclusive evidence that the event did not occurr, but it is a powerful circumstantial case, IMHO. Point #2 is, of course, the most important agrument. If you can provide independent evidence of the resurrection, please do so.
