Farinata, I would have expected better from a person who rattled off scientific facts about global warming and AIDS. No where in the Bible does it say that "God helps those who help themselves." It is demonstrated in the Bible time and time again that God would bring a person to the point where they could not help themselves at all. And at that moment their only coarse of action would be to call upon the name of their God and ask him to intervene on his behalf. If you are going to make this claim then I would have at leased have expected some refrence. They may not have been your words but you were propagating a lie that puts words in the mouth of God and Christianity as a whole.

Wouldn't you advicate proper research and documentation of sources. Did you not tell Robert that he was being ridiculous for building an argument on a faulse assumption? You did the same thing. I am not going to call you a hipocrite as you called Robert. But I am calling you to a hightened level of awareness of what you say and how you build your arguments.

Just to put you at ease, I agree with you. Robert's passive, "do not worry" indiffrent and apethetic attitude is anti-Christian and anti-Platonian. I should treat those in need, those who are infirmed and thoes that are hungry ad naked as though they were myself. I can begin to sympathize with them as this weekend I had a terible terible wat ever sickness, I think it was the flu, ad I could not walk around with out feeling as though I was going to die. And though this is nothing compared with the pain felt by billions every day I now understand that if I can do something about sickness I should. And not just blow it off and say, "do not worry." Robert put words in the mouth of Jesus when he interpeted that segment of the gosples in the way that he did.

I whole heartedly agree with DDN when he says that he does not want to live in a "shit-hole" and that Christ surely didn't want us to destroy the planet and kill those who do not agree with us and otherwise cause misery on a globle scale. It is time that we agree that the world does have problems ad tat it is our responsiblity to do something about them. Did all the Christians out there forget about "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I haven't.
