Dear Farinata, DD9, Kevin, and Ryan,

I'm bombarded here so I'll answer in one reply.

Christ does invoke us to help those less fortunate, no doubt, and my reply is not at all to suggest that we don't. My post was to challenge the overstated claims of things that may just be out of our control to begin with or may be rhetorically overblown.

How do you know that I don't feed the hungry?

How do you know that I don't help the poor?

How do you know that I don't help the infirmed?

I wouldn't advertise it myself because that in itself would be un-Christian.

I don't advocate uncaring. I simply don't advocate overblown sensational issues that are designed for the inducement of worry, guilt, and other wrong-headed reasons.

As for the polical aims. One should be wary of the "politics of victimisation". It is a powerful motivator of hate. It was used in many examples last century and resulted in many wars and conflicts.

One can see the same arising these days with the black ski mask guys. Violence and hate is being spewed onto the streets.

As for the Monsanto connection, I don't get it? Where does that fit in with the price of beans today?

If someone is hungry, then feed him. If someone is infirmed, then sooth him, and do it yourself in a quiet and anonymous manner. But don't promulgate worry or guilt to those who don't. Teach them the Gospel of Jesus. They will learn and be changed in their hearts.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all His righteousness shall be added unto you".

God Bless,

Robert
