Acting on an ill-founded moral judgement IS immoral.

Thus wrong thought isn't a "crime," per se. It certainly isn't illegal, and the bulk of many of our laws are composed of it. But it certainly isn't right to act in ways that affect others because of our questionable moral beliefs, and it isn't right to codify our ignorance of the subject into written law.
