Why, because we're honest about them?

: I'm quite "pro-gun" as you say but I've never been aroused by one. You should think through your rhetoric a bit before you regurgitate it all over yourself. It's pretty offensive to be characterized by someone, who obviously shouldn't own a firearm due to certain sexual maladjustments, as himself sexually attracted to weapons. When you claim any intergrity in the future, I may remind you of this.

Such insults! That's not very Christian of you, Stuart. First off, I never have and never will own a handgun. My experience with them came when I accompanied a gun-owning friend to the firing range to see what it was all about. And you misunderstood me when I spoke of the link between guns and sex. It's not that I grow aroused at the sight of a handgun; a moment's reflection when firing a gun reveals how seductive these things are. It's not as if I'm the first person to understand that guns bring out the darker elements of human sexuality, namely, power and domination. Ever see "Full Metal Jacket"? This is my rifle, this is my gun, this one's for fighting, this one's for fun!"

In fact, even rightwing losers have (consciously or unconsciously) noted the relationship between guns and cocks. Go here for your daily dose of tits and weapons, courtesy of rightwing icon G. Gordon Liddy.

: I became interested in them after I was willed my grandfather's service revolver. He was a motorcycle cop in Compton, CA all his life and took me to the firing range when I was a child a few times. I moved from the city to the country 5 years ago and began to carry it with me on walks with my family through the mountain trails (lots of bears and cougars - you know).

Why would anyone bring a child to a firing range? As for the bears and cougars, remember that they were here first, and that you are intruding upon what little habitat they have left.

: You guys mischaracterize the vast majority of people who responsibly own and operate guns. We are not kooks who have an erotic response to power. Those that act irresponsibly with weapons are no more representative of me, and the huge group I'm in, than militant, vandalizing vegan punks represent you.

Ah, for my carefree militant vegan punk vandal days! Say what you will about it, Stuart, but those were fun times. Now, about those good, law-abiding citizens and their responsible use of guns, perhaps these once upright citizens, now jailbirds, can offer you a cautionary tale.
