Your comment is either telling your lack of maturity of your utter lack of knowledge. Affirmative action is not about giving anything to people who do not deserve it. It is the exact opposite. It is requiring that if a person is qualified (usually over qualified), they are given the position! How dare you say that a minority is getting anything that they do not deserve. As hard as you say that you have worked to get good grades and do well in school, imagine the horror to find that no matter how hard you work, you will never be given the chance to succeed. Imagine the fact that you know that you are better qualified than a white male and your test scores are higher. YET THE WHITE MALE IS GIVEN THE POSITION THAT YOU CLEARLY DESERVE. Or better yet, imagine that the tests were racially biased. All of your hard work is down the drain simply because you did not know the slang / terms of white America. IS THAT FAIR? Does that make you less qualified or not as smart? WHY DO YOU ASSUME THAT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLACES PEOPLE THAT DON'T BELONG IN A SCHOOL/A JOB? CONTRARY TO YOUR BELIEF, IT SIMPLY INSISTS THAT THOSE THAT ARE USUALLY OVER QUALIFIED ARE GIVEN A CHANCE TO SUCCEED in the positions! What on earth do you mean that the past is the past? Affirmative action is in no way giving anything to minorities, it just make the bigots have to be more creative in their discrimination practices!
