First off, you are coming at the Author of this article fram an EXTREMELY bias point of view. The one who is showing their ignorance, Im sorry to say, is none other than yourself. The facts are the facts, and you obviously have not read them. First off, afirmative action is bias. That is the whole point. The minorities that you say are "overly qulififed" are infact held up to lesser standards than white american males. It actually starts in grade school with "Gifted" programs. Take the state of Florida for example: White americans, whether male or femals must have and I.Q. of at least 130 to get into the gifted program starting in third grade. Minorities however must only achieve a rating of 115. Now is this what you would expect if these standards were supposed to be equal? do you think it is fair that a white American should have to be in a mainstream class with an IQ of 129 when a Minority is alowed to participate i a gifted program when his IQ is only 115. Does this sound fair? Are they in fact over qualified? Which moves me to my next point, High School.

High Schools do in fact level the playing field slightly more. But in order to attend a private acadmy such as MAST in Key Biscane, under afirmative action, a white american, male or female must achieve a GPA of no less than 3.6 by the end of their eighth grade year. A minority coming from the same school system must achieve a GPA of no less than 2.95. Now again, is this fair? Why hould someone a different ethnic back ground be let into a school that holds a minimum of 3.6 GPA when they have a C average? Is this at al fair???? It is not only Florida either, I have researched this subject from its beginings and most if not all areas are equal to this.

We should not even start on College however, because as the years go by. the gap widens. Lets just take for instance school X which is in the state of California. I will not disclose the name as this is not a publicly known policy. A white male must have a minimum of a 3.65 and score 1150 on SAT tests in order to qualify for an academic scholarship. this is only to apply, not to recieve. A minority, say a black male, must attain a minimum of a 3.0 and score 1050 on SAt tests in order to apply. Not bad, but it does not stop here. Last year the final scholarship was given to a black female from the state of New York with a GPA of 3.25 and an HPA of 3.25. this means there were no hoonors sourses taken, or they were taken and scored low on the HPA scale. Her SAT scoes stood around 1100. Among the runnings for this scholarship was a white female from the state of Washington. She had a 3.98 GPA 4.46 HPA 1370 on her SATs and scored a 5 on six AP course exams. She was denied the scholarship because a quota must be met for minority scholarships. How do I know? because I was on the commity. So get your facts straight before you go spouting your mouth off like that. I am in no way a bigot either, but I dont believe in afirmative action at all. It is reverse racism at its pinacle. It is a step back in time. I have many students of many ethnic back grounds, they all recieve grades based on their work. not on the color of their skin or the country they came from. As for Racially bias tests, i have no idea where you got this idea. There is no such thing as "American Slang" on college entrance exams. I believe the Bigot here is you. You should deeply ponder what you said before and then get back to me if you would like to have an intelectual conversation on the subject, not a mud skiging contest. thank you.
