: In burning down McDonalds, one may have either of two objectives in mind. Either (a) To reduce the income of McD by forcing them to close their doors or (b) to keep customers away by making them feel unsafe in the store. The first is probably not that effective because McDs can self replicate faster than bacteria, and they'd hire security guards (three for every police officer in Australia, y'know) to stop us coming back. The second may have some merit, but I want this to pass censorship so I'll refrain from pointing out the obvious virtues of this course of action. And as for the need to destroy all multinationals, sure, it's a big war, but it consists of many tiny battles. The broader war is about public policy direction being taken back by CITIZENS from the BUSINESS community. They exist as part of society, and they must abide by rules aimed at securing the stability and prosperity of that society. When business and social aims come into conflict, we are presently lucky to even get a debate, lucky if the mere identification of opposed interests occurs. Terrorism may be good publicity.

: McSpotlight: I'd disagree with that, personally. Terrorism never brings people over to your side; it merely coerces them.

Terror tactics will do nothing but make things harder for all of us Mcdonalds will sudenly look like the victim of these 'hard line leftist militants'. Govenrments, the media and ordinary people accross the world have a very hostile view of any form of terrorist activity. So if anybody out there is stupid eonugh to try using force against the giant M then you could very well create the begining of the end of any form of resistance to these multi nationals.
Terror tactics are just not an option!
