All-purpose arguments for wild attacks

SDF: Now there's an argument that can be used against a wide variety of leaders -- "we can't trust Barry Stoller as the revolution's leader because he'll lead us back to capitalism, with himself as the new monopoly capitalist".
What would characterize the vanguard that would NOT lead the world back to capitalism (or feudalism, or totalitarian dictatorship, you name it)? How would we, the mere followers, the group that cannot be trusted with anything more than "trade-union consciousness," know the difference?
