Religion can be one motivating factor against either laziness or corruption but there's more to it than that, I'm not really criticising your perspective I think it's great, just consider the realm of sociology and how socialisation (that is everything that you learn or experience while growing up, from your parents views, communities views, nations views and culture etc.)and your environment determine your drives and perspective on life.

Micheal Albert in 'Looking Forward' a book on participatory economics which is a truly socialist explanation of how a socio-economic order could be organised to reflect core socialist values (Ecology, Community, Liberty, 'From each according to their ability, to each according to their work') successfully, it's easy to read/follow and not boring, I'd check that out, friend, much more satisfactory to my mind than marxism.
