: I'm not being sectarian when I attack bolshevism, weather the flavour of the month is lenin or Trotsky or Stalin or Mao, I will listen to anything they have to say, the end of Orwell's homage to Catalonia puts it well when he says what is to be gained from blasting sincere socialist with rethorical accusations of 'Trotskyist!!' it's like accusing your opponent in a chess match of arson or bigamy, nothing to do with the immmediate situation at all.

SDF: Attacking sectarianism as a belief system is OK if you have a point about Marxist belief to make. Please read carefully the thread about sectarian Marxism -- in each of my posts the issue of the difference between "my book club's definition of socialism" and "the socialist movement as a whole" is NOT DROPPED. But just calling Barry names is the equivalent of Marcos' "liberals such as SDF".

: However if when the broad based pluralistic movement is established and people either infiltrate it or agitate within it, with talk of vanguards and living exactly in accordance with the accounts of the glorious leaders who where right about everything etc. who have to ask will you let the thing perish so that the bolshies can feel included or set some ground rules.

SDF: Your suggestion for ground rules?
