: Yes, the people there where John Does, there was an anarchist contingent with black flags but the people interviewed where generally normal semi-political folk who said that they where against the privatisation of the world and the idea that absolutely everything was for sale, honourable, but it would appear that honour warrants pepper spray attacks, battoning, tear gas, paint gun blasts in modern society.

Hey, it's what CS gas was originally developed for; not for "chemical war" but for quelling dissent.

: It's a different story in London a police van got torched, I think it's a message to the authorities last time you ran us over this time we're going to torch your damn cars before you get an opportunity, was anyone there to see it go up?

Nothing so planned; it was one of the blue Transport Police Transits; and wasn't occupied. About 500 riot police tooled up to the eyeballs surrounded about 200 protestors and started getting physical and the van happened to be caught up in it; it wasn't so much a "you can't run us over now" as "you left this thing here, so since we stand bugger all chance against the stormtroopers there, we'll smash this 'un up instead". Gesture-of-defiance stuff, basically.

: I heard there was a greater Trot prescense at the London event than at previous RTS style demos, is that true?

The SWP were certainly out in force, from what I saw.

Farinata.
